Details

Horace Kephart (1862 – 1931) was an American travel writer and librarian who literally wrote the book on camping and woodcraft, aptly named “Camping and Woodcraft”. The knife design that bares his name has become a staple in the outdoor and bushcraft communities for its practical utility and clean, simple design. This collaboration between designer Joe Flowers and Condor Tool & Knife delivers a modern tribute to this timeless knife in 1075 carbon steel and American Walnut.

Brand new from Condor Tool & Knife.

Blade: The practical spear like drop point is fully flat ground for solid performance with a satin spine and black coated flats for enhanced corrosion resistance. The narrow blade is easy to maneuver with a primarily straight edge and some belly at the tip to handle a variety of tasks.

Handle: Brass pins attach the walnut scales to the full tang delivering a solid handle with a straight, round profile that comfortably fills the hand and allows for multiple grip options. A subtle forward guard provides some additional safety in use.

Carries via a handcrafted welted leather belt sheath.

1075 Carbon Steel: A simple carbon steel used by production and custom knife makers. Low wear resistance (edge retention) due to low carbide content. Good toughness at lower hardness and easy to sharpen to a fine edge. Good performance when properly heat treated. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
