Designer Jason Breeden (Spyderco Rescue, TOPS Black Rhino, etc.), returns with his odd and utilitarian perspective with the Mountain Pass Axe that bridges the gap in the Mountain Pass line from Condor. Built with the same rugged and practical materials and construction as the knives in the line, the Mountain Pass Axe is the tool of choice when chopping while still offering control for some general slicing tasks if the need arises. The Mountain Pass Axe has a full tang, Condor Classic hammer finished 1075 carbon steel head and natural canvas Micarta handle scales.

Blade: Equipped with a similar pattern head as a cabin or Connecticut axe, the Mountain Pass Axe has a tough 1075 carbon steel full tang construction with the rugged Condor Classic hammer finish on the flats and satin finished convex grind ideal for chopping. The sweeping edge offers 4 1/4" of cutting edge from toe to heel that delivers accuracy, power and makes a fair skinning tool when gripped close.

Handle: Stainless Torx bolts attach the high traction natural canvas Micarta scales to the full tang for a tough handle that is both secure and comfortable. The handle is shaped to offer multiple grip positions, close to the blade for a controlled grip for slicing work or near the pommel swell for optimal leverage in heavy chopping tasks. Add a lanyard at the end for increased safety and retention.

Carries via a leather pouch sheath with pivoting belt loop.

1075 Carbon Steel: A simple carbon steel used by production and custom knife makers. Low wear resistance (edge retention) due to low carbide content. Good toughness at lower hardness and easy to sharpen to a fine edge. Good performance when properly heat treated. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
