Designed by Jason Breeden, well known for his unusual and functional designs (Spyderco Rescue, TOPS Black Rhino, etc.) the Mountain Pass Machete is the largest blade in his Mountain Pass line from Condor. Practical and rugged, this machete blends the capabilities of a short sword, large fixed blade and classic jungle machete into an adaptable chopping tool. The Mountain Pass Machete has a Condor Classic hammer finished 1075 carbon steel blade and natural canvas Micarta handle scales.

Blade: Reminiscent of the venerable Bowie knife, the Mountain Pass Machete has a straight spine clip point profile blade of tough 1075 carbon steel. Finished with a rugged Condor Classic hammer finish on the flats and satin convex grind, this blade has plenty of strength for chopping with easy stropping edge maintenance. The sub-3 mm blade slices through grasses and light brush with ease and is tough enough for saplings and small branches, making it ideal for trail clearing.

Handle: Stainless Torx hardware attaches the natural canvas Micarta scales to the full tang over complementary red liners. Micarta delivers traction even when wet and is tough for hard use. The large handle offers multiple grip positions, close to the blade behind the subtle dual guard offers added security for fine work and controlled chopping or near the pommel swell for added leverage in heavy chopping tasks. A generous hole allows for lanyard attachment.

Carries via a leather pouch sheath with pivoting belt loop.

1075 Carbon Steel: A simple carbon steel used by production and custom knife makers. Low wear resistance (edge retention) due to low carbide content. Good toughness at lower hardness and easy to sharpen to a fine edge. Good performance when properly heat treated. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
