Details
The design of the CRKT M16-04KS is a timeless legacy of knife maker Kit Carson who passed away in the fall of 2014. The version is a full sized EDC folder with tactical inspiration retaining the functionality of the original design while being upgraded with an integral frame lock construction and Sandvik 12c27 blade steel for enhanced performance.
Brand new product directly from Columbia River Knife & Tool.
The Blade: The M16-04KS has a robust Tanto blade with a saber ground tip for strength and a hollow grind on the primary cutting edge for powerful slicing performance. A black oxide coating on the Sandvik 12C27 blade enhance corrosion resistance and reduces reflectivity. The blade deploys via the integral flipper, pioneered by Carson himself, or via dual thumb stud/stop pins at the spine of the blade.
The Handle: The handles are solid stainless steel with milled holes for weight reduction and ease of cleaning. The handle is finished in a durable black oxide finish to match the blade. One side of the handle makes up the integral frame lock which provides secure lockup of the blade during use. Scallops on the interior of the lock allow for easy disengagement of the lock. This version has removed the LAWKs manual safety for simplicity of operation.
The knife carries via a 4-position stainless steel pocket clip.
