Elegance through simplicity could be the motto for the CRKT Offbeat II designed by Pat & Wes Crawford. This knife features the innovative Crawford Lockback mechanism and a simple, utilitarian design: blade, handle, lock and clip. The Offbeat II features more utilitarian Glass Reinforced Nylon scales over stainless liners but still retains the clean lines and elegant simplicity of the original.
Brand new product directly from Columbia River Knife & Tool.
Blade: The drop point blade of the Offbeat is simple and utilitarian with a high height hollow grind and full length swedge that gives excellent slicing and piercing performance. The blade opens via robust dual thumb studs for ambidextrous operation.
Handle: The handles are tough, light weight GRN polymer over solid steel liners which house the innovative Crawford Lockback mechanism. A long, slender cutout along the back ends in a solid, textured thumb stud. As the blade is deployed the cutout slides around the tang of the blade until it reaches a notch, seating snugly into place. This effectively locks the blade in the open position and the harder you grip the handles, the more secure it becomes.
Carries via a tip-up, reversible stainless steel pocket clip.
8Cr13MoV Stainless: is a highly corrosion resistant stainless steel with decent toughness and edge holding. This steel is in the same class as 440B and AUS-8.
