CRKT Snap Lock Ed Van Hoy Design 5102N

CRKT has brought back one of its most innovative knife design collaborations. Receiving the Most Innovative Knife Award at the 2004 Blade Show the Ed Van Hoy designed Snap Lock 5102N is a knife like no other. After engaging the Thumb Wheel Cam the Snap Lock mechanism is disengaged allowing the blade to pivot 180 degrees out from the handle. No other knife operates in this way and you really have to see it to appreciate the elegance of the design. A perfect option for a every day carry or gentleman's knife, the Snap Lock is sure to turn some heads and spark conversations with its unique design.

The Blade:A modified Wharncliffe blade with a hollow grind and full length swedge gives the Snap Lock exceptional slicing ability and a fine tip for precision cutting tasks. The Snap Lock performs well above its weight class. The innovative lock mechanism that gives the Snap Lock its name functions by rotating a cam to disengage the tension from the handle/lock spring allowing the knife to pivot 180 degrees on the pivot to open or close. You almost have to see it to believe it!

The Handle:Made from 420J2 stainless steel the Snap Lock handle is also the locking mechanism. When either open or closed the handle presses down on the blade holding it securely in position. This also means that added grip pressure makes the lock more secure when in use.

Carries via a right hand, tip-up, stainless steel clip or included Quick Release Paracord Lanyard.
