Dawson Knives Handyman Specter 3V Red/Black G10 Fixed Blade

A perennial favorite at Dawson Knives, the Handyman is an EDC pocket fixed blade with a multipurpose design. You get the strength and security of a fixed blade with an exposed tapered pommel that can be used as a flat head screwdriver, pry tool or glass breaker as well as a wire breaking notch in the ricasso. Dawson utilizes American-made, CPM 3V powder metallurgy steel which offers exceptional toughness with edge holding up to three times longer than D2 and a clear Cerakote coating for corrosion resistance. This version comes with red and black G10 handle scales and a two-tone Specter finish blade.

Blade: Differentially heat treated American CPM 3V gives the simple drop point blade optimal performance with a slicing high hollow grind and robust, piercing tip. Jimping at the front and back of the spine deliver excellent control for fine cutting tasks and heavy work. Jimping provides added safety paired with the integral guard, and a notch in the ricasso can be used for wire breaking. A two-tone Specter finish gives the blade a more discreet look, while providing the spine of the full tang construction a battle worn style.

Handle: Thick and contoured, the matte blasted G10 scales are attached with black stainless steel hardware over red liners for a robust, secure and comfortable handle. Deep milled grooves, traction cuts and strategic jimping pair with the blasted finish and index choil for a secure grip. An exposed, tapered pommel end delivers multipurpose versatility for impact and prying. The deep index choil offers optimal control and a subtle guard for safe use. Each knife is 100% hand made and includes a Certificate of Authenticity with spec sheet and serial number.

Sheath: Carries via a custom molded Kydex pocket sheath.

CPM-3V: is a high carbon alloy steel that extremely tough and has enough chromium to have some corrosion resistance. However, care is required to prevent corrosion. The edge can be ground thin, as it is tough enough to support a fine edge. 3V delivers the highest level of toughness while maintaining good edge retention. Dawson's differential heat treatment gives a harder edge for performance and a softer spine for added for toughness and flexibility.
