DPx Gear HEST II Woodsman Fixed Blade

The DPx Gear Hest II Woodsman is a hunting and camp companion that is just the right size for belt or backpack carry while also offering a variety of additional features.  The full tang blade is composed of Niolox that has been ground to a plain edge drop point capable of performing detailed hunting tasks, such as skinning, as well as completing utility camp work with ease. 

Brazilian Santos hardwood handle scales have been precision cut and polished adding both good looks and in-hand comfort.  Attached via stainless hybrid slotted/Allen screws, the scales can be removed to reveal a cutout beneath keeping the knife lightweight for carry and use.

Special cutouts can be found near the thumb ramp that DPx refers to as wire-stripper jimping.  These cutouts not only provide additional purchase at the ramp, but are also specifically shaped to make wire-stripping an easier task when in a pinch.  A bottle opener, 1/4" hex driver and pry bar are also cleverly included within the tang.

About Niolox Stainless Steel: A German steel considered a "Special Wear" stainless steel, Niolox offers excellent hardness and edge retention.  At an HRC of 61, Niolox gains it's stainless qualities from Vanadium and Niobium rather than the traditionally used Chromium.
