The DPx Gear HEST Original started the H•E•S•T knife concept created by adventurer and DPx Gear founder Robert Young Pelton. The Hostile Environment Survival Tool™ strikes a balance between ability to conceal, utility and fail-safe operation . This useful blade wont fail when deployed and is ready to be carried everyday.

The Blade: Crafted from high carbon 1095 steel with Rowen heat treatment. Drop point blade is flat ground for excellent slicing ability and come with a durable textured desert tan coating. The solid steel tang has lashing points, pry bar, wire breaker, and a bottle opener/lifter/thumb ramp. You will find every aspect of the H•E•S•T Original thought out: the balance, lashing points, thumb control, wire breaker and even the ability to remove the hollow, Micarta® handles for use as a neck knife or field expedient tool.

The handle: Hollow green canvas micarta handle scales are held on by brass slotted screws that remove to reveal a storage area. Removal tool comes installed on the paracord lanyard attached to the sheath. Prybar and finger choil combine to keep the blade securely in the hand with the canvas just the right amount of traction. Included Kydex sheath can be used as a neck knife or field expedient tool with the included belt clip plate.
