ESEE Knives Ashley Game Knife AGK 1095 Micarta Fixed Blade Knife

ESEE decided to produce a hunting-specific knife and sought counsel from Ashley Emerson, a guide and hunter everywhere from Alaska to Africa. Together they produced the AGK or Ashley Game Knife. The knife was based on Ashley's extensive experience using and modifying knives to handle game processing everything from squirrels to buffalo and many things in between. The blade and handle have been optimized to deliver the best performance in ergonomics and cutting while still being compact enough for use in tight spaces. The AGK comes with a tumbled black oxide coated 1095 carbon tool steel blade, Micarta handles and leather belt sheath.

Blade: The full tang, 1095 carbon steel blade offers nearly 3.5 inches of cutting edge. The width allows for working inside the pelvic cavity of the average whitetail and the subtle sweep of the blade places the point in line with the handle with an optimal drop point profile with plenty of belly on the continuously curving edge. The blade was designed without a sharpening notch at the choil to avoid potentially damaging snags while working.

Handle: Solid, durable and weatherproof canvas Micarta was chosen for the handle slabs because it is impervious to sweat, blood, and other fluids while offering superior traction when wet. The integral guard and lanyard hole provides added safety when working in adverse conditions while the sleek and contoured design is comfortable for extensive use. Handles are attached via black oxide stainless steel Allen hardware.

Sheath: Carries via a high quality leather belt sheath.

1095 High Carbon Tool Steel: Highly popular, simple carbon steel. Used extensively by both production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear due to low carbide content but very tough and easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
