Details
The ESEE PR4 from the Camp Lore line of tools is a straight forward approach to utility around camp. It's Patrick Rollins' take on the classic Horace Kephart design to serve its user well in a variety of outdoor applications.
Brand new item direct from ESEE Knives, USA.
The Blade: 1/8 inch thick 1095 high carbon steel features durable full tang construction and a shaving sharp cutting edge. The straight spear design will lend itself to a wide array of any camper or hiker's tasks. You're looking at right about four inches of workable plain cutting edge on the PR4. The steel has a dark tumbled black oxide finish for hiding wear and tear on the surface minus the 90 degree spine. It's left flat and bare for striking a Ferro rod to light up the night. This steel will need to be cared for and will re-sharpen easily in the field. The ESEE Knives logo is etched on the display side of the blade.
The Handle: A comfortable and palm-filling hold on this one. ESEE bolted dark brown micarta handle scales to the tang after being sculpted and lightly coated to maintain their shape. The sculpted divots mean there's always a spot for a finger in any grip. There is a welcoming small forward guard to keep those fingers away from the cutting edge while working.
The ESEE PR4 ships with a right hand carry brown leather sheath with belt loop.
