The Barlow pattern originated in Sheffield England, but it is American as “apple pie” thanks to the popularity in postcolonial America. True to the original, the Northfield UN-X-LD #77 Yankee Barlow has a single spear blade, teardrop handle and long bolsters marked "N" for Northfield UN-X-LD. This version comes with a polished blade and antique yellow saw cut bone covers.
Brand new, direct from Great Eastern Cutlery.
Blade: The timeless spear point blade opens with a snap via the long pull groove with a solid half stop for safety. A high polish satin gives a classy look paired with the "Yankee Barlow" and top hat blade etch. A forward swedge adds visual appeal and enhances piercing performance.
Handle: The teardrop shaped handle has classic brass liner and pin construction with long bolsters topping the handsome antique yellow saw cut bone covers for a warm, tactile feel and rugged good looks. The polished bolsters are a cornerstone feature of the Barlow pattern and come grooved and engraved for that premium experience.
1095: A simple, extensively used carbon steel with low edge retention and corrosion resistance. Easy to sharpen to a fine edge, 1095 can be differentially heat treated for better performance.
