At only 2.3 pounds, the Gerber Folding Spade with Serrated Edge is a portable powerhouse and so much more. The folding E-Tool is tough as nails with a glass-filled nylon handle, powder-coated boron carbon steel blade, and 7075 aluminum shaft yet still comes in at a reasonable sub-3 pound weight. The blade has a scalloped or serrated edge for handing roots and clay and can be utilized in shovel and pick configurations as well as being folded flat for use as an improvised hammer.
