GiantMouse ACE Clyde Stonewashed Elmax Green Micarta & Brass Folder
Named after the GiantMouse crew's favorite watering hole in Portland's Pearl district, The Clyde Common at the ACE Hotel, the ACE Clyde is a blend of Scandinavian puukko, Japanese kwaiken and Persian pesh-kabz with a modern style all its own. Slim and pointy, the up swept blade pairs with a simple streamlined handle and high performance materials making an ideal daily carry folder. This version comes with a stonewashed Elmax blade, green canvas Micarta handle scales and brass spacer and thumb stud.
Brand new, direct from GiantMouse Knives.
Blade: Riding on a bronze washer pivot, the slim, trailing point blade deploys with snappy action via the brass thumb stud. Finished with a wear hiding stonewashed finish, the Elmax blade has a crowned spine for a custom feel and high flat saber grind for a balance of strength and slicing performance. Jimping on the spine adds traction and helps with sight free indexing.
Handle: Hardened, inset stainless steel liners support blasted canvas Micarta handle scales offering a traction even when wet. Simple in design, the clean lines are visually appealing and surprisingly ergonomic in the hand. A cutout for the lock acts like a partial index choil for added traction. One liner forms the locking mechanism, providing smooth operation and solid lock up, while the brass partial back spacer adds balance and style.
Carries via a right hand stainless steel wire clip.
Bohler Elmax: Bohler Elmax is a popular choice for high-end user grade knives. Elmax is comparable to American CPM-S30V/S35VN in terms of edge retention, toughness, and sharpening with a slight improvement in corrosion resistance.
