GiantMouse GMF2-FF Satin M390 Green Micarta Fixed Blade Bushcraft Knife
GiantMouse designers Anso and Vox drew inspiration for the design of the GMF2-FF and leather dangler sheath from the style of knives they grew up using in Denmark. A modern version of an old Nordic work blade. Inspired by the class puukko, the GM2 offers a clean, simple and ergonomic design that was built for work in modern, high performance materials. This version comes with full flat ground, satin finished M390 blade and green canvas Micarta handle scales.
Brand new, direct from GiantMouse Knives, Italy.
Blade: A long, slim, straight spine profile is delivered in flat ground and satin finished Bohler M390. The blade shape lends itself to a variety of cutting tasks and the full flat grind offers optimal slicing performance with balanced durability. A small section of jimping on the spine offers added traction and can be used for striking a fire rod.
Handle: Contoured, blasted canvas Micarta handle scales are supported by the full tang construction providing a comfortable and secure grip that delivers traction even when wet. The spine of the tang is crowned around the handle for even better in hand feel. A relatively neutral design, the handle is comfortable in multiple grips and has milled grooves for indexing a traction with an exposed tang lanyard hole at the pommel.
Sheath: Carries via a handcrafted Italian leather sheath with dangler drop belt loop.
Bohler M390: Bohler M390 has become an extremely popular choice for high-end, user grade knives thanks to its high level edge retention and exceptional corrosion resistance making it very low maintenance. It also resists burr formation for greater ease of sharpening. Comparable steels are CTS-204P and CPM-20CV.
