Details
The Tidioute #12 Toothpick Pattern from Great Eastern is based off the classic Texas Toothpick pattern with the defining, long and slender clip point blade. The Toothpick is an excellent whittler and excels at fine cutting tasks while still being a capable utility blade. This version comes with Nickel Silver bolsters, Oval Shield and Chechen Rosewood covers.
#12 in Chechen Rosewood. Brand new, directly from GEC. Made in the USA. Stock Photo - Wood Grain Varies
Blade: Just under three inches of cutting edge on the full flat ground, clip point blade is complimented with a full length swedge and vertical satin finish. Its nail nick is perfectly placed for smooth, single stop operation. Built from hard working 1095 USA high carbon steel it will need care to prevent corrosion or allow a natural patina for a unique piece. This blade sharpens nicely to a razor like edge.
Handle: Construction of this classic pattern includes a steel back spring, brass liners and pins. Carefully rounded and smooth, this one is dressed in handsome Chechen Rosewood with polished nickel silver, dual bolsters and Oval shield.
Each #12 arrives inside its shipping tube, wrapped in wax paper with company info on the front.
1095 High Carbon Tool Steel: Highly popular, simple carbon steel. Used extensively by both production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear due to low carbide content but very tough and easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
