Details
The #23 from Great Eastern Cutlery is the GEC version of a classic two-blade trapper. Instead of the traditional blade profiles Great Eastern has opted to go with a drop point Skinner paired with a hefty Spey blade. With a full size handle and dual, satin finished 1095 carbon steel blades this Trapper is ready to handle your heavy use tasks. This Tidioute version comes with Jigged Brazilian Cherry covers and Beaver shield.
Brand new, direct from Great Eastern Cutlery, USA.
Blade: The #23 Trapper comes with two blades: a drop point Skinner and robust Spey blade. Both blades are equipped with a full flat grind, subtle top swedge and traditional nail nick for opening.
Handle: Smooth Woodland Micarta handle scales are fitted perfectly to a single polished nickel silver bolster of the generous handle, supported by solid brass liners. Heavily jigged, the Brazilian Cherry Wood has an organic look and feel, with a natural look and warm, comfortable feel in the hand while delivering the solid weather resistance, durability and traction. Brass liners and pins round out construction along with the polished Beaver shield.
Each GEC folder ships rolled in wax paper inside a shipping tube with company information on the front.
1095 High Carbon Steel: Highly popular, simple carbon steel. Used extensively by both production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear due to low carbide content but very tough and easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
