Based on the classic sod buster, the #71 Sudbuster is a great example that pairs a single carbon steel blade with a cap lifter tool, stainless liners, and hand filling handles to get the job done before and after work. Blade: Backed by a strong back spring with half stop the blades have great walk and talk with a decisive snap. The utilitarian drop point skinner blade is the heart of the utilitarian Sodbuster design, perfect for all around use, while the cap lifer doubles as a flat head screwdriver to get the job done during and after work. Flat ground and finished in a machined satin, the etched 1095 carbon blade comes with a classic nail nick for opening.

Handle: Thick, rugged linen Micarta handle scales are pinned to stainless steel liners with pins and a hollow tube for lanyard attachment. The Micarta is chamfered for a comfortable, ergonomic feel with a visually appealing polished finish that still offers a solid grip paired with the pommel end swell. A strong slip joint back spring provides safe non-locking use.

1095 Carbon Steel: A simple, extensively used carbon steel with low edge retention and corrosion resistance. Easy to sharpen to a fine edge, 1095 can be differentially heat treated (hard edge/soft spine) for optimized performance.
