Details

The #86 Oil Field Jack from Great Eastern Cutlery has a timeless look and classic feel that fits just right in the hand and the pocket. Polished bolsters add a touch of class while the straight handle and dual polished satin blades are all business. This Northfield UN-X-LD version comes with Sambar Stag covers. This is the listing for the pictured item.

Brand new, direct from Great Eastern Cutlery, USA.

Blade: The #86 Oil Field Jack comes with two blades situated at the same end of the handle. The primary blade is a large, flat ground clip point blade for tackling the heavy work and a flat ground coping blade for fine work. Both 1095 high carbon steel blades open with a snappy half stop via a long pull or nail nick and have a classy polished satin finish.

Handle: Sambar Stag handle scales are fitted perfectly between two polished nickel silver bolsters of the straight handle (grooved at that blade end) with a subtle taper toward the blade-end. The Sambar Stag is rugged and unique with a subtle texture for traction. A perfect choice for users and collectors alike the Sambar Stag is made with no shield for a clean, organic look and feel. All nickel silver has a bright polished finish on the #86. Brass liners and pins round out construction.

Each #86 ships rolled up in wax paper inside a shipping tube with company information on the front.

1095 High Carbon Steel: Highly popular, simple carbon steel. Used extensively by both production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear due to low carbide content but very tough and easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
