Blade: The slim 1095 carbon steel Wharncliffe blade is fully flat ground and bright satin finished for a good-looking, hardworking blade perfect for controlled precision work enhanced by the subtle top swedge. It opens via a single nail nick with a pronounced half stop, confidently snapping into the open position. The blade is etched with a "Northfield" logo and the standard markings are stamped into the tang.

Handle: A compact, serpentine pattern handle delivers a comfortable three-finger grip. Smooth Snakeskin Acrylic scales are pinned to brass liners offers durability and a warm in hand feel with classic style while the stainless back spring delivers secure, non-locking operation. Polished and grooved bolsters at either end and a matching Federal shield round out the construction.

Each GEC knife ships wrapped in wax paper inside a tube with company information on the front.

1095 High Carbon Steel: Highly popular, simple carbon steel. Used extensively by both production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear due to low carbide content but very tough and easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
