Details

The Tidioute Oregon Trapper from Great Eastern Cutlery is an impeccable iteration of the classic ranch hand or cattle driver's large folder. One that's built tough to handle any outdoor chore one comes across. There is no lock, but a strong back spring has purpose to work hard until you're done. This is the "Pattern Production Premiere", thus having the encircled three "P's" designation engraved on the back of every blade.

The #43 with Frontier Bone is brand new direct from Great Eastern Cutlery.

The Blade: The regular clip style is ideal for slicing and cutting through the toughest terrain. It opens easily via a crescent-shaped nail pull just about midway down, just below the upper peaked swedge. A helpful half stop greets you along the way. The satin finish and flat grinds are gorgeous built from USA 1095 carbon steel. It's ideal for the field as it holds a good, tough edge and is easy to re-sharpen around the fire. "PPP" in a circle appears on the back of the blade indicating this first batch of knives made of a new pattern.

The Handle: Handsome cattle bone with the Frontier distinction features natural grooves and texturing you'll appreciate. It's very clean in appearance, with light to dark brown centers and off-white edges. A bold bolstered end is capped as a crowning jewel on the piece. Polished nickel silver matches the traditional TIDIOUTE shield on the front. Construction is complimented with brass pins, liners and ample lanyard tube near the bottom.

The Tidioute #43 ships rolled up in wax paper inside a cardboard tube with company information on the front.
