The Tidioute #74 Mustang from Great Eastern Cutlery is an excellent example of a medium-sized, single blade traditional design. Outfitted with Brown Burlap Micarta scales and a brushed nickel silver bolster, the drop point blade is ready to handle what your day has to offer.
Brand new, direct from Great Eastern Cutlery, USA. Limit 1 per household please
Blade: Lean and mean with plenty of utility cutting power, the 1095 carbon steel is fully flat ground and satin finished for a good-looking, hardworking blade. It opens via a single nail nick with a pronounced half stop, confidently snapping into the open position. The blade is unadorned, as a user should be, with only the standard markings stamped into the tang.
Handle: A full size handle accommodates medium to large hands with a neutral design for versatility. Smooth, rugged, brown burlap Micarta scales are pinned to brass liners and offer modern performance with classic style while the stainless back spring delivers secure, non-locking operation. Brushed bolsters at the pivot and a matching Badge shield round out the construction.
Each GEC knife ships wrapped in wax paper inside a tube with company information on the front.
1095 High Carbon Steel: Highly popular, simple carbon steel. Used extensively by both production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear due to low carbide content but very tough and easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
