Details

This new Pit Boss custom flipper from maker Greg Lightfoot is the definition of beast! This is one monster folder. Greg makes thick, overbuilt tactical folders his way and does it well.

The Blade: The grinds on this thing are unbelievable. Both sides have been hollow ground, formed into an aggressive tanto shape with of course his famous subsonic upper swedge grind on the front. It is thick, satin finished just beautifully with a bit of a recurve. The cutting edge is clean, pristine and is simply jaw-dropping to admire. It opens via an integral flipper tab. Detent is spot on. Nice 'n easy, smooth bearings deployment on the Pit Boss. Greg's Shark Logo is engraved on the front.

The Handle: A masterpiece in overbuilt, the handle is comfortable even for it's size. .14 inch thick titanium liners have been blue anodized and provide the foundation. One of which creates the liner locking mechanism with lock face insert for smooth, easy unlocking of the blade. Working with the liners are blue/silver carbon fiber handle scales. This material reminds me of a starry night sky, just a pleasure to view. These meet up with handsome Chad Nichols damascus bolsters at a slant adding to the overall killer looks of this package. All titanium hardware was used on this piece including the revolver cylinder-styled pivot.

Greg finished this one off with a thick carbon fiber backspacer that extends out the end of the handle and a Nichols tip up pocket clip. The Empire ships in a padded S3 Hard Case.
