Taking its name from a northern Kenyan desert wilderness, the Didi Galgalu from Helle Knives is a robust full tang fixed blade made to handle everything on an outdoor adventure. Developed in collaboration with transcontinental adventure documentary team Voetspore, the Didi Galgalu pairs a large and capable 12C27 Sandvik blade with substantial and sustainable Kebony handles to make a formidable cutting tool on which you can rely.

Blade: The large full tang drop point blade is solid 12C27 Sandvik stainless steel providing a low maintenance and durable blade that is reliable for hard use. Broad and thin this blade has a solid heft while offer excellent slicing performance from the razor sharp modified Scandi grind. A small micro bevel makes the edge strong and easy to sharpen. The stunning polished satin finish enhances corrosion resistance and visual appeal.

Handle: Brass rivets attach the Kebony scales to the full tang over contrasting liners. Kebony is a sustainable bio-treated wood with the durability, look, and performance of premium hardwood. The generous handle fills the hand and has a forward choil for controlled cutting close to the blade with full grip near the pommel for heavy cutting.

Carries via a hand stitched Nordic style leather belt sheath.

Sandvik 12C27: A modified AISI 420, Sandvik 12C27 has around 4 times the carbon for higher hardness. Thanks to a high purity and fine carbide microstructure, this steel delivers good corrosion resistance, high hardness and exceptional toughness, allowing for razor sharpness.
