The Helle Fjellkniven (Mountain knife) is a simple and elegant fixed blade designed with inspiration from the tur (weekend hikes in the mountains) traditions of Norway. Expertly hand finished solid select curly birch handle has a classic feel topped with nickel sliver bolster and black spacer and houses the through tang drop point blade. This well crafted mountain knife handles daily chores and woodcraft with an equal measure of ease.

Blade: Equipped with a razor sharp modified Scandinavian grind the solid 12C27 steel drop point blade is versatile for tasks large and small. A small micro bevel edge makes the Scandi grind more robust and easier to sharpen and maintain. The solid blade has less flex compared to laminated steel for added control and the ability for spine sharpening to use for ferro rod striking. 

Handle: Lightweight through tang construction is reliable and comfortable, especially in cold environments. The hand shaped and finished solid curly birchwood handle is warm, visually appealing and feels like a functional tool, comfortable in almost any grip. The large pommel swell aids in drawing the knife. As with all Helle knives, the exceptional quality makes this an heirloom piece you can pass down for generations.

Sandvik 12C27: A modified AISI 420, Sandvik 12C27 has around 4 times the carbon for higher hardness. Thanks to a high purity and fine carbide microstructure, this steel delivers good corrosion resistance, high hardness and exceptional toughness, allowing for razor sharpness.
