The Firetac is a slim, sleek and capable "every day tactical" folder that Rick Hinderer developed over a decade ago and is now being released in a full production model. The Firetac is like a more streamline version of the XM-18 3.5". It sports a slimmer blade and handle with the same robust titanium frame lock construction, now with a hardened steel lock face insert, and high traction G10/Titanium front scale. No flipper on the Firetac means a clean profile in the closed position while the titanium thumb disk makes for fast, ambidextrous deployment when you need it.

The Blade: At just over 3.5" the Spanto style blade offers plenty of cutting edge while the high height saber grind and reinforced tip still retain plenty of toughness. There is a small section of jimping on the spine for traction and a titanium thumb disk maintains a low profile while still providing fast, ambidextrous deployment. A rugged and attractive Stonewashed finish looks great on this hard working blade and helps hide wear from use. The blade is made from CPM 20CV for some of the highest levels of edge retention and corrosion resistance while still retaining good toughness and relative ease of sharpening.

The Handle: On the Firetac you will find the familiar Hinderer construction: Titanium frame lock, open back construction with barrel spacers and a thin titanium liner supporting a 3D Textured Black G10 front scale. The Firetac is more streamline than other Hinderer models thanks to a lack of jimping on the handles which makes from a more comfortable grip and smoother transition in and out of the pocket as well as into different grip while in use. The frame lock is equipped with a lock face insert for smooth and reliable operation. The Firetac carries via a reversible, right-hand only, Hinderer Style titanium pocket clip.
