The first design under the Isham Bladeworks label, this every day carry knife offers a traditional feel with modern style and materials. The Blackstar has a classic Bowie style blade of M390 with dual fullers and detent slip joint operation. The Black G10 handle exhibits the iconic Isham style and houses a detent mechanism that allows for the slip joint operation to work with the integral flipper tab for deployment.

Blade: A classic Bowie-style clip point blade is made from modern, high-performance Bohler M390 with full flat grind that delivers optimal performance for an every day carry knife. M390 gives some of the best edge retention and corrosion resistance of any modern steel while being able to take a very fine, razor-like edge and still be relatively easy to sharpen. Dual fullers on the blade add to the old-school style and offer good purchase for two-hand operation of the blade. The blade is held in place by an internal detent mechanism that gives a traditional feel while still allowing for deployment via the inline, integral flipper tab which maintains a sleek look in the closed position.

Handle: 3D machined and contoured Black G10 handle slabs offer clean lines and a comfortable, ergonomic grip. Dual carbon fiber inlays offer a modern, elegant look. The handles are kept clean in the construction with only two Torx screws holding the knife together, one at the pivot and one at the pommel end of the handle.

A 3D machined titanium pocket clip is attached for right hand, tip-up carry.

Bohler M390: Bohler M390 has become an extremely popular choice for high-end user grade knives thanks to its extreme edge retention. M390 also has a good corrosion resistance, meaning most users can avoid problems by simply wiping off their blade after each use. Another great feature of this steel is its ability to resist burr formation during sharpening. Comparable steels are CTS-204P and Duratech 20CV.
