The Kabar 1266 is built on the DNA of the USMC fighting knife, with a functional design backed by over 100 years of tradition. This version is equipped with a Modified Tanto profile blade along with a more modern and durable handle material and Glass-Filled Nylon Sheath offering a time-tested design with enhanced performance for the forest or the battlefield.

Blade: Black coated 1095 Cro-Van high carbon tool steel is delivered in a traditional Japanese Tanto profile modified with a nearly full length top swedge that tapers to a fine, piercing point. Saber ground for durability, the slightly up swept blade offers a good balance of cutting performance and strength for martial or field use. Black coating on the blade provides added corrosion resistance while the 1095 carbon steel is easily sharpened to a razor like edge.

Handle: The tang of the blade is wrapped in a high traction Black Kraton G handle that is nearly indestructible and all but impervious to the elements. A full steel guard offers additional protection from slipping onto the blade while a hefty steel pommel makes the knife very well-balanced and provides an improvised hammer tool in a pinch.

Sheath: This knife comes with a rugged Glass-filled Nylon Sheath with MOLLE compatible nylon backing for multiple secure carry options.

1095 High Carbon Tool Steel: Highly popular, simple carbon steel. Used extensively by both production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear due to low carbide content but very tough and easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
