The Kershaw Chive is a classic Ken Onion design perfect as a gentleman's every day carry thanks to the compact size and fast, one hand operation. As with all Chives this version comes with SpeedSafe assisted opening and deploys via the index flipper or dual thumb stud/stop pins. This stainless steel frame lock variant has a carbon steel Damascus blade and media blasted stainless steel handles.

Blade: The recurve blade of the Chive is hollow ground offering optimal slicing performance in the most compact size possible. The carbon Damascus steel blade is etched to deliver a striking and unique look and deploys with lightening speed thanks to the SpeedSafe Assist mechanism. A slide safety keeps the knife from deploying unintentionally during carry or storage.

Handle: Solid stainless steel handles deliver a comfortable grip and good heft in the hand. The simple, robust frame lock mechanism offers smooth operation, reliable lockup and simple, intuitive operation.

Carries via a right hand, tip-down only pocket clip.

Alabama Damascus: A high quality, carbon steel Damascus, Alabama Damascus is typically 416 layers of 4 different types of steel including:(4) layers 5160 spring steel, (3) layers 203E low carbon high impact High nickel mild steel alloy, (3) layers 52100 ball bearing steel and (3) layers 15N20 band saw blade material. 13 layers of the 4 types of steel are then forge welded and folded 5 times to achieve 416 layers. Cutting performance will be similar to the carbon steels mentioned above. Care is required to prevent corrosion.
