The Liong Mah Design Field Duty is a full size, titanium frame lock folder that is slim enough for every day carry while being robust enough for serious use in the field. Liong Mah has a eye for aesthetics while delivering a blade that is optimized for performance. Liong Mah and Reate Knives have created another masterpiece in performance and design in the new LMD Field Duty. This version comes with contoured titanium and marbled carbon fiber handles, integral bolster lock and a hand ground, satin finished M390 Blade.

Blade: The drop point profile of the Field Duty is highly utilitarian and thanks to the tall height of the blade it offers a great balance of durability and cutting performance, tapering down to a razor sharp edge. The blade is nearly full flat ground with a fine belt satin finish on the grinds and tumbled finish on the small flats. A small swedge tapers the tip to a fine, piercing point. The large blade hole cutout allows for a variety of opening methods, all smooth thanks to the ceramic bearing pivot. A jimped spine offers some added traction and a comfortable position for the thumb when utilizing the generous finger choil for fine or heavy use.

Handle: Simple and elegant the countered titanium handles support striking marbled carbon fiber scales that are attached to form integral titanium bolsters. The handles are comfortable and ergonomic in the hand, ready for serious use. A machined, grooved partial backspacer gives the knife a good balance in the hand and provides a solid anchor for the deep carry clip. Internal milling reduces the overall weight with titanium hardware keeping it all together. The integral bolster lock is smooth and reliable thanks to a hardened steel lock face insert with over travel stop. An inline pin is provided for lanyard attachment.

Carries via a reversible, tip-up, deep carry titanium pocket clip with ceramic tension ball.

Bohler M390: Bohler M390 has become an extremely popular choice for high-end user grade knives thanks to its extreme edge retention. M390 also has a good corrosion resistance, meaning most users can avoid problems by simply wiping off their blade after each use. Another great feature of this steel is its ability to resist burr formation during sharpening. Comparable steels are CTS-204P and Duratech 20CV.
