Liong Mah Design Hawk Carbon Fiber Titanium Frame Lock Flipper M390

With the success of the Lanny folder, Liong Mah received an influx of requests for smaller EDC type knives. One result is the Hawk, taking inspiration from traditional slip joint folders but designed and constructed as a modern flipper operated frame lock. This is a slick little EDC with beautiful lines and a "do anything" attitude. This version comes with a satin finished Bohler M390 blade and a Carbon Fiber inlaid titanium handle.

Blade: The Hawk sports a modified Wharncliffe blade that has just a bit of belly and a fine top swedge. The blade design paired with the deep hollow grind delivers a fine slicing blade with plenty of point for piercing. The blade rides smooth on ceramic bearings and deploys with ease via the slim index flipper. Jimping on the spine provides traction and an index point.

Handle: Full titanium handles are inlaid with handsome, Marbled Carbon Fiber that enhance the look and feel of the handle. The handles are fully contoured for comfort and neutral in design to facilitate multiple grips. The rear part of the frame forms the integral frame lock equipped with a steel insert for smooth and reliable operation. The construction is completed with a custom titanium pivot, grooved partial backspacer and inline lanyard pin.

Carries via a reversible, tip-up, deep carry titanium pocket clip with ceramic tension ball.

Designed by Liong Mah and built to the tightest tolerances by David Deng of Reate Knives for optimal fit and finish. Includes a zipper pouch with patch and microfiber.

Bohler M390: Bohler M390 has become an extremely popular choice for high-end user grade knives thanks to its extreme edge retention. M390 also has a good corrosion resistance, meaning most users can avoid problems by simply wiping off their blade after each use. Another great feature of this steel is its ability to resist burr formation during sharpening. Comparable steels are CTS-204P and Duratech 20CV.
