Details

With the success of the Lanny folder, Liong Mah received an influx of requests for smaller EDC type knives. One result is the Zulu, taking inspiration from the traditional Zulu slip joint with a similar spear point blade profile but designed and constructed as a modern flipper operated frame lock. This classic EDC has clean, beautiful lines and a utilitarian design. This version comes with a satin finished Bohler M390 Spear Point blade and a titanium handle with Black Canvas Micarta inlay.

Brand new directly from designer Liong Mah.

Blade: The Zulu sports a classic Spear Point blade, just like the original. The blade design paired with the deep hollow grind and top swedge delivers a fine slicing blade with plenty of point for piercing. The blade rides smooth on ceramic bearings and deploys with ease via the nail nick or index flipper. Jimping on the spine provides traction and an index point while the generous finger choil gives excellent traction for fine work.

Handle: Full titanium handles are inlaid with rugged, polished Black Canvas Micarta inlays that enhance the look and feel of the handle. The handles are fully contoured for comfort and neutral in design to facilitate multiple grip options. The rear part of the frame forms the integral frame lock equipped with a steel insert for smooth and reliable operation. The construction is completed with a custom titanium pivot, jimped backspacer and inline lanyard pin.

Carries via a reversible, tip-up, deep carry titanium pocket clip with ceramic tension ball.

Designed by Liong Mah and built to the tightest tolerances by David Deng of Reate Knives for optimal fit and finish. Includes a zipper pouch with patch and microfiber.

Bohler M390: Bohler M390 has become an extremely popular choice for high-end user grade knives thanks to its extreme edge retention. M390 also has a good corrosion resistance, meaning most users can avoid problems by simply wiping off their blade after each use. Another great feature of this steel is its ability to resist burr formation during sharpening. Comparable steels are CTS-204P and Duratech 20CV.
