Blade: With over three inches of cutting edge this hollow ground S35VN drop point blade has plenty of cutting power for daily carry. Finished in a tumbled polish over machine satin this blade is both eye-catching and utilitarian. A moderate half stop makes opening smooth while adding extra safety in use on this non-locking blade. Dual fullers provide some classic Medford style and solid traction for opening.
Handle: Dual slabs of chamfered titanium house the blade and stainless back spring for a simple, robust and comfortable handle. The slabs are milled with a classy, brushed satin faux bolster for a timeless look. The tumbled finish of the scale section provides a subtle contrast with the bolster while hiding wear from carry. Both slabs are internally serialized. An extension of the back spacer is left exposed and milled for lanyard attachment. Engraved "Made in United States of America" on the spine.
CPM S35VN: was designed to offer improved toughness over CPM S30V. It is also easier to machine and polish than CPM S30V. The inclusion of Niobium allows for the formation of niobium carbides along with vanadium and chromium carbides. Substituting some niobium carbides for vanadium carbides makes CPM S35VN about 15-20% tougher than CPM S30V without any loss of wear resistance. CPM S35VN’s improved toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping.
