Medford's "Big Knife" performance is distilled down into a slim, lightweight, everyday carry package in the Praetorian Slim. Large enough for big jobs and plenty robust, the Praetorian Slim is similar in size to the Praetorian Genesis only scaled down in thickness and weight to offer a Medford design that can easily be carried every day in your pocket, pack or purse...even works well in dress slacks. This version has a black PVD coated, CPM-S35VN Drop Point blade, matching hardware and bead blasted and tumbled titanium handle slabs.

Blade: The utilitarian, Drop point blade is made from slim yet robust 1/8 inch thick CPM-S35VN that has been black PVD coated and ground with a mid-height hollow grind delivering powerful slicing and piercing performance with solid durability and just over 3 inches of razor sharp cutting edge. A fine point pierces with ease and excels at detail work while the non-reflective PVD coating enhances corrosion resistance and offer discreet use. The blade deploys smoothly on the phosphor bronze washer pivot and opens ambidextrously via the large blade fuller milling.

Handle: Two +1/8 inch slabs of titanium make up the handle with barrel spacers forming an easy to maintain, open back construction. The front scale is milled with finger groove divots for enhanced traction while the back scale forms the simple, robust, integral frame lock mechanism. Both slabs have a blasted and tumbled finish for a rugged and wear hiding look that fits perfectly with the Medford design philosophy and large oval holes for easy lanyard attachment. With +4 inches of grip area the Praetorian Slim can accommodate even large gloved hands while still carrying slim in the pocket. The construction is completed with PVD coated titanium hardware. Both slabs and blade are marked with an individual serial number.

Carries via a right hand, tip-up only flat Titanium pocket clip. Includes an S3 Hard Case for transportation and storage.

CPM S35VN: was designed to offer improved toughness over CPM S30V. It is also easier to machine and polish than CPM S30V. The inclusion of Niobium allows for the formation of niobium carbides along with vanadium and chromium carbides. Substituting some niobium carbides for vanadium carbides makes CPM S35VN about 15-20% tougher than CPM S30V without any loss of wear resistance. CPM S35VN’s improved toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping.
