Mick Strider Custom XL Stellite 6K San Mai Flamed Frame

The Strider Knives XL model is the yeti of the bunch and not for the faint of heart registering in at nearly a whopping ten inches overall. This custom version was handmade by the owner himself, Mick Strider for some of the greatest tactical precision in our industry. This unique XL is a work of hardcore art any collector of the genre would be proud to own.

The Blade: Mick is known for his "Nightmare Grind" as it is as breathtaking as it is exhausting to pull off. The precision, patience and technique that goes into every one is absolutely astonishing for a knife lover. This one is folded and folded, then folded again into a Nightmare Tanto with a recurve. Mick has created a San Mai Damascus with Stellite 6K alloy core. Wow! A long thumb ramp with familiar deep Strider notching blends into one of the coolest spines you'll ever see known as Mick's dragon scale scallops. These light bumps run down the length of the blade all the way to the tip and are reminiscent of the spine or back of any pre-historic reptilian or fantastic creature from classic stories told. It operates smoothly via an ambidextrous oval window cutout of the flat with small blade stop protrusions. 

The Handle: Over 5 inches of glorious Flame anodized titanium goodness with carefully grooved edges and textures galore. This double flamed configuration is definitely few and far between. It's that cool. Construction on this beast consists entirely of titanium. Oversized Ti barrel spacers, hardware and internal "closed" blade stop. The pivot bolt construction is now titanium as well. It works in conjunction with thick phosphor bronze washers to create that silky action. The frame lock up is early and on point. It also utilizes the Hinderer Lockbar Stabilizer to prevent over-extension of the bar. A 3/4 inch slot is cut from the bottom to allow for lanyard customization. 

Final touches on the Custom XL is a tip up carry MSC engraved titanium pocket clip and of course Mick's signature inside the large choil of the blade. This one ships in a USA Made black, padded zipper pouch with MSC-XL patch on the front.

About Stellite 6K: It is a cobalt alloy. Not a steel. When it is made, the chromium, molybdenum and tungsten combine with carbon to form carbides. The hardness and wear resistance are in the carbides, not the cobalt. It contains no iron, so it cannot rust nor is it magnetic in any way. It will not corrode even in salt water. The edge holding is better than steel.
