Microtech Currahee S/E Black Partial Serrated Elmax Fixed Blade Knife

Cherokee for "stands alone" the Microtech Currahee, is an extreme duty fixed blade knife that you can rely on in the most dire circumstances. The robust saber ground blade has a subtle recurve and plenty of belly for aggressive slicing and plenty of weight to get all the way through your cut. This version comes with a Black Cerakote coated, partially serrated Elmax blade and black polymer handles.

Blade: A beefy +5mm thick blade is made from high performance Bohler Elmax stainless steel, executed in a saber grind with a partially serrated recurve blade and finished with a durable, non-reflective poly-ceramic Cerakote coating. The blade comes razor sharp for good slicing and nearly full length top swedge for enhanced piercing while the partially serrated section makes short work of fibrous materials. While this is a more tactically orientated blade the big belly lends this knife to hunting and skinning tasks as well.

Handle: Micro-textured polymer handles are attached to the full tang blade with proprietary Microtech hardware and deliver a secure and comfortable grip. The polymer material is ultra tough, resistant to the elements and makes for easy maintenance. An exposed pommel end pulls double duty as impact tool and lanyard attachment point. Includes a braided paracord lanyard with stainless steel "knocker" bead attached.

Sheath: Carries via a molded Kydex sheath with locking DOTS belt clip.

Bohler Elmax: Elmax has become an extremely popular choice for high-end user grade knives thanks to its extreme edge retention. Elmax also has a good corrosion resistance, meaning most users can avoid corrosion (rust) by simply wiping off their blade after each use. Another great feature of this steel is its ability to resist burr formation during sharpening. Elmax has very similar performance to M390 and is used interchangeably by Microtech.
