Blade: Equipped with a two-tone black Cerakote and satin finish this set sports blades of high performance stainless steel blades: Elmax and CTS-204P. The grinds and fullers have a black ceramic coating while the flats are bright satin. The blades are nearly sterile, forgoing the standard brand and model information and simply having the blade steel marked on the front and USA on the back. The blades operate on a double action opening and retracting mechanism. Simply move the thumb slide on the side of the handle up to deploy and down to retract. An internal spring remains at rest in both the open and closed position to reduce wear. The action is reliably fast and smooth.

Handle: Smooth, black coated 6061-T6 aluminum has contoured edges creating a comfortable feel in-hand as well as a smooth transition in and out of your pocket. There are several areas of machine-grooved texturing around the outsides aiding in grip. Both handles in the set sport half of the Dead Man's Hand (all black Aces and Eights) with a Microtech Talon logo card centered behind a Spade with two bullet holes. This set is an excellent addition to any collection. Construction is completed with Microtech's proprietary black hardware, glass breaker end and pocket clip with individual serial number/date of production and logos.

CTS-204P: A highly wear resistant, powder metallurgy stainless steel, CTS-204P has some of the highest edge retention and corrosion resistance available. CTS-204P is similar in performance to CPM-20CV and Bohler's M390.

Bohler Elmax: Elmax has become an extremely popular choice for high-end user grade knives thanks to its extreme edge retention. Elmax also has a good corrosion resistance, meaning most users can avoid corrosion (rust) by simply wiping off their blade after each use. Another great feature of this steel is its ability to resist burr formation during sharpening. Elmax has very similar performance to M390 and is used interchangeably by Microtech.
