Microtech UTX-70 Apocalyptic M390 Drop Point Black OTF Automatic Knife 148-10AP

The UTX-70 (15% smaller than the UTX-85) is a mini double action out-the-front automatic knife from Microtech that's one of the most friendly for everyday carry. The diminutive size is perfect for watch pocket or even key ring carry. This version has black anodized aluminum handles and a plain edge, Apocalyptic M390 drop point blade.

Blade: Equipped with a blasted and tumbled Apocalyptic finish, the utilitarian drop point blade has a razor sharp plain cutting edge. The blade is made from high performance M390 stainless steel for optimal performance with a sub-2.5 inch length for ease of carry. The Apocalyptic finish on the grinds is rugged and non-reflective, while the satin flats add a touch of class. Double action automatic operation is fast, smooth and reliable. Move the thumb slide up to deploy and down to retract. An internal spring remains at rest in both the open and closed position to reduce wear.

Handle: A smooth, black anodized 6061-T6 aluminum handle has chamfered edges creating a comfortable feel in-hand and smooth pocket transition. A gentleman's OTF automatic, the UTX-70 is smaller, thinner, and has no jimping for a clean, stylish look. Construction is completed with Microtech's proprietary hardware, glass breaker end and pocket clip with individual serial number/date of production.

Bohler M390: Bohler M390 (analog to CPM-20CV and CTS-204P) is a premium powder metallurgy (PM) stainless steel with high carbide content for some of the highest edge retention and corrosion resistance while being relatively easy to sharpen. A popular choice for high-end production and custom knives. Relatively high carbide volume and coarse microstructure gives this steel lower toughness.
