The UTX-85 (15% smaller than an Ultratech or 85% the size of one) dual action out the front automatic knife from Microtech makes an even friendlier every day carry option. This version has OD Green contoured handles and a plain satin finished, Double Edge ELMAX blade.

Blade: Equipped with a bright machine satin finish, the double edge blade has two razor sharp plain cutting edges. The dagger-like blade is made from high edge retention and corrosion resistant ELMAX super steel. The 3.125 inch blade features a double action opening and retracting mechanism. Simply move the thumb slide on the side of the handle up to deploy and down to retract. An internal spring remains at rest in both the open and closed position to reduce wear. The action is smooth and fast. 

Handle: Smooth, OD Green coated 6061-T6 aluminum has improved rounded edges creating not only a comfortable feel in-hand but a smooth transition in and out of your pocket. There are several areas of machine-grooved texturing around the outsides aiding in grip. This lighter more ergonomic grip is easy on the hands and eyes. The handle's construction is completed with Microtech's proprietary hardware, glass breaker end and blasted pocket clip with individual serial number/date of production. 

ELMAX: Similar in composition to M390, ELMAX offers excellent corrosion resistance and edge retention/wear resistance with good toughness for small folding and fixed blade knives. Microtech uses both steels interchangeably due to the similarity in performance. Users would be hard pressed to find a difference in performance.
