The UTX-85 (15% smaller than an Ultratech or 85% the size of one) dual action out the front automatic knife from Microtech makes an even friendlier every day carry option. This version has a tan contoured handle with black hardware and a black coated, plain edge, M390 Tanto point blade.

The Blade: The UTX-85 is equipped with a Two-Tone, Tanto point blade made from M390 with a razor sharp cutting edge. The front half of the blade sports a clean slicing plain edge with the back half equipped with aggressive serrations for tackling fibrous materials like rope and webbing. M390 delivers top of the line wear and corrosion resistance. The black coated finish adds corrosion resistance and offers more discreet use. The 3.125 inch blade features a double action opening and retracting mechanism. Simply move the thumb slide on the side of the handle up to deploy and down to retract. An internal spring remains at rest in both the open and closed position to reduce wear. The action is smooth and fast.

The Handle: Smooth, tan coated 6061-T6 aluminum has improved rounded edges creating not only a comfortable feel in-hand but a smooth transition in and out of your pocket. There are several areas of machine-grooved texturing around the outsides aiding in grip. This lighter more ergonomic grip is easy on the hands and eyes. The handle's construction is completed with Microtech's black proprietary hardware, glass breaker end and pocket clip with individual serial number/date of production.
