A true gentleman's knife the Moki Blakiston's Fish Owl was originally released for the Japanese market only under the name Shimafukurou. Named after the rare (only around 100 in existence) and revered Japanese owl, the knife of the same name was so popular it was translated and delivered to the Western market as well. This is a slim and beautiful folder made with satin finished Japanese AUS-8 stainless steel, linerless, polished black linen Micarta handles and impeccable fit and finish.

Blade: The slim blade of the Fish Owl is made of low maintenance and razor sharp Japanese AUS-8 stainless steel in a stunning satin finish. The blade opens via a generous nail nick on a robust pivot with silky smooth operation. A small sharpening choil allows for easy maintenance of the 2 ²¹⁄₃₂" cutting edge.

Handle: The Blakiston's Fish Owl is made with a simple, traditional construction with handsome, polished Black Linen Micarta scales and back spring all held together with steel pins. The simple back lock construction is seamless and smooth in operation for reliable lockup and secure use. The scales are solid Micarta and have no steel liners or inserts for exceptionally light, 1.65 oz. weight. A tube in provided for lanyard attachment.

Carries via the included black nylon horizontal belt sheath with leather label.

Japanese AUS-8 Stainless Steel: a low carbon, high chromium stainless steel produced by Aichi Steel Corporation, Japan. We've found it to have an excellent balance between toughness and strength. It offers good corrosion resistance and is capable of acquiring a razor sharp edge. It typically dulls faster than S30V, but has better edge retention than 440C. Sharpening should be a breeze. The "A" signifies that AUS-8 steel has been annealed after the steel has been cold rolled to relieve stress prior to heat treatment.
