Known for blending traditional and modern design elements and exceptional fit and finish, custom knife maker Enrique Pena has teamed up with Reate Knives for his production X-Series. The Front Flipper Apache is a perfect example and offers his custom design in a more affordable, production platform. This GPKnives Exclusive version comes with a satin finished M390 blade, titanium bolsters and liners and Black Canvas Micarta handle scales with blue hardware. Limited production run.

Blade: Following the pattern of his custom Apache, this knife has a Wharncliffe blade with modern front flipper tab deployment and reverse Tanto point. Made from premium, stain finished Bohler M390 stainless steel the blade has a nearly full flat grind and long top swedge delivering excellent slicing and piercing performance. A generous nail nick allows for a traditional two-hand opening with ceramic bearings offering smooth operation and decisive flipper action.

Handle: Reminiscent of a classic single blade trapper, the sweeping handle profile consists of two thick titanium liners with integral bolsters supporting rugged black canvas Micarta. Contoured for a comfortable, ergonomic grip the handle delivers solid traction. A cutout in the bolster allows access to the hardened steel lock face equipped liner lock delivering smooth, reliable operation for the life of the knife. Blue anodized hardware and partial back spacer round out the construction.

Carries via a right hand milled titanium pocket clip.

Bohler M390: Bohler M390 (analog to CPM-20CV and CTS-204P) is a premium powder metallurgy (PM) stainless steel with high level edge retention and corrosion resistance. A popular choice for high-end production and custom knives, M390 is relatively easy to sharpen, with toughness on par with 440C/154CM.
