The 1000/8000 Dual Grit Pride Abrasive 8" Aluminum Oxide Water Stone is made from high quality bonded aluminum oxide. The 1000 Grit is a good place to start for general sharpening when you don't have edge damage and delivers a coarse edge for aggressive slicing on a plain edge blade. 8000 Grit is good for finishing for general sharpening, delivering a fine satin/polish finished edge fast.
