Protech's BR-1 Magic Bolster Release automatic knife has a hidden secret that, once you've mastered, you'll want with you every day. Ingeniously designed by Mike "Whiskers" Allen, the BR-1 has a textured bolster that acts as the actuator, lock and release. Simply apply pressure with your thumb to the right to open and close using the Magic Bolster. This version comes with a black DLC coated blade, black bolster and blue handles.

The Blade: This common drop point provides ultimate daily utility built from easy-sharpening 154CM stainless steel. It's flat ground with a subtle upper swedge and finished with a Black DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating for superior protection. Move the textured bolster ever so slightly up or to the right for fast, reliable automatic action. Once deployed, it's held solidly in place until you again move the bolster up unlocking the blade to fold closed. It's Magic!

The Handle: Comfortably contoured hard coat blue anodized aluminum creates lightweight durability over the long haul. The magic bolster is textured to get a grip connected to a long back spring silver locking bar. Each has a good-sized lanyard hole and deep carry tip up pocket clip. 

154CM: Crucible 154CM is an improved version of 440C with added molybdenum offering improved corrosion resistance and edge retention, as well as a higher level wear resistance.
