The Half-Breed Auto from Protech Knives combines the svelte handle design of the Newport with the nimble yet capable blade of the Sprint for a California-legal automatic knife you can really get a grip on. This version comes in with a black hard anodized aluminum handle with 3D wave milling, Mother of Pearl inlaid button and stonewashed CPM-S35VN blade.

Blade: The Half-Breed comes with a California Legal, sub-2" blade made of American CPM-S35VN stainless steel providing a great balance of edge retention, corrosion resistance, and toughness, an excellent choice for all around use. A mid-length swedge gives the blade a fine point that can be used for detailed cutting tasks and piercing. Finished with a rugged, wear hiding stonewashed finish on the grinds the flats are horizontal satin finished for a touch of class. The blade deploys via a mother of pearl push button operated coil spring mechanism that is fast and smooth for easy one-handed operation.

Handle: Two pieces of black hard anodized aluminum come together to form the slimline handle and are milled with a 3D Wave pattern for enhanced traction and visual appeal. The handle is highly ergonomic with the right amount of taper for security in the hand. Flawless in operation, the button lock mechanism is reliable and rock solid for secure use and inlaid with MOP for a touch of class.

CPM S35VN: was designed to offer improved toughness over CPM S30V. It is also easier to machine and polish than CPM S30V and the adjusted chemistry makes CPM S35VN about 15-20% tougher than CPM S30V without any loss of wear resistance. CPM S35VN’s improved toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping.
