Reate Knives K-2 Compound Ground Tanto Blue Anodized Titanium S35VN Flipper

The K-2 Flipper from Reate Knives is a subtle yet refined execution of the ubiquitous titanium frame lock flipper. Simple yet elegant contoured titanium handle scales are anodized blue, tumbled, and milled with polished diamond spirals for added grip and an eye catching look. A compound ground, S35VN blade delivers excellent slicing performance without sacrificing strength. As always the fit and finish from Reate is exceptional.

The Blade: The compound ground S35VN blade delivers the best of both worlds: a tough, saber ground, Tanto point and a high-height hollow ground edge built for slicing. A nearly full length swedge helps balance both the look and feel of the blade while enhancing piercing performance. The ceramic ball bearing pivot gives the K-2 silky smooth deployment via the index flipper. 

The Handle: Ergonomic and contoured the K-2 is fits well in the hand. This version is anodized blue and tumble finished with matching backspacer and 3D machined titanium pocket clip. The clip is tip-up right hand only. Polished, milled lines form a row of spiral diamonds on each side of the handle, giving the K-2 a striking look as well as adding traction in hand. A titanium frame lock delivers smooth, solid operation thanks to the steel insert which doubles as over travel protection.

About CPM-S35VN - Designed to offer improved toughness over CPM S30V, S35VN is easier to machine and polish as well as having better resistance to edge chipping. The inclusion of Niobium allows for the formation of niobium carbides along with vanadium and chromium carbides. Substituting niobium carbides for some of the vanadium carbides makes CPM S35VN about 15-20% tougher than CPM S30V without any loss of wear resistance.
