Shire Post Mint | Vegvisir Norse Compass | Bronze and Leather Necklace

The Vegvísir, or Norse compass, is an Icelandic magical stave, which, according to the Huld manuscript, protects one from losing their way in bad weather. The vikings used the word "hafvilla" or "bewildered" which means to have no sense of direction or be lost at sea. Shire Post Mint created this coin to help guide us through modern moments of hafvilla. This bronze coin pendant necklace comes drilled with two holes and strung on a leather thong for wear around the neck.

Minting process

Treated to look as if it has been handled and circulated, this process is done by hand, and it is both an art and a science, coloring and patinas will vary. No two are exactly the same.

Coins are struck one at a time in the USA using antique machinery and traditional coining techniques. A colorful description is included with history and facts about the coin.
