Dracula, Vlad the Impaler

Description from Shire Post Mint

Bram Stoker’s infamous tale of Dracula was inspired by the life of Vlad the Impaler, Vlad III, the Prince of Wallachia. "Dracula" means "Son of the dragon" and he and his father, Vlad Dracul, were both members of the chivalric Order of the Dragon, and renamed themselves accordingly. Fictionalized from the time of Dracula's short-lived triumph over the Ottoman Turks this 3-Ducat coin features a portrait of Vlad Dracula on the obverse and the sign of the dragon opposite. For Stoker fans this coin makes a great piece of memorabilia as well as an interesting worry or memento coin.

Coin artwork by Joe Paonessa.

Minting process

Treated to look as if it has been handled and circulated, this process is done by hand, and it is both an art and a science, coloring and patinas will vary. No two are exactly the same.

Coins are struck one at a time in the USA using antique machinery and traditional coining techniques. A colorful description is included with history and facts about the coin.
