Spartan Harsey Folder Special Edition Golden Compass PVD S35VN

This Overall 2016 American Made Knife of the Year award winner Spartan Harsey Folder now available in this special edition "Golden Compass" graphic for 2019. It features a Black PVD coated blade plus some very cool engravings: a nautical compass rose in gold on both sides of the black PVD coated handles. This collaborative effort features Bill Harsey's signature styling combined with premium materials and Spartan's precision fit & finish. Mid-large in size, the folder is very comfortable in-hand and ready for hard use.

Blade: Traditional drop point style CPM-S35VN stainless steel blade has been black PVD coated for a non-reflective finish that can stand up to everyday wear and tear. Dual gold anodized, titanium thumb studs for this offering making opening from either side a breeze. Bronze washers construction at pivot delivers smooth, reliable operation of the blade. Aggressive Jimping at the thumb ramp of the spine delivers added traction and a good indexing point.

Handle:  Ergonomic handles have been constructed from 6AL4V titanium and anodized black over bronze. A nautical compass rose engraving can be seen on the show side with bronze anodized Spartan engraved clip insert. Matching barrel spacers and a silver oversize pivot bring the two pieces together. The back titanium slab forms an integral frame lock mechanism for reliable lock-up in hard use conditions with internal lock-bar stabilizer.

Carries via a reversible, tip-up, titanium Spartan Arrow pocket clip.

CPM S35VN: was designed to offer improved toughness over CPM S30V. It is also easier to machine and polish than CPM S30V. The inclusion of Niobium allows for the formation of niobium carbides along with vanadium and chromium carbides. Substituting niobium carbides for some of the vanadium carbides makes CPM S35VN about 15-20% tougher than CPM S30V without any loss of wear resistance. CPM S35VN’s improved toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping.
