Spyderco Manbug Wharncliffe Black Plain VG10 Black FRN Back Lock MBKWPBK
A bit bigger and broader than its female counterpart, the Spyderco Manbug offers a similarly compact package that easily attaches to your keychain or drops into the pocket or bag for everyday carry, offering an efficient cutting tool in an ultra ultra-lightweight package. The fully flat ground blade has improved slicing geometry, punching above its weight class, being only 0.70 of an ounce thanks to the linerless fiberglass-reinforced nylon construction. As with the Ladybug, Spyderco's Bi-directional texturing ensures a secure grip with a mid-back lock for safety during use. This Wharncliffe version comes with Black FRN handles and a plain edge, VG10 stainless steel blade with black Titanium CarboNitride coating.
Brand new, direct from Spyderco Knives, Japan.
Blade: Delivered in a classic straight edge Wharncliffe profile, the fully flat ground VG10 stainless steel blade offers enhanced slicing performance with a razor sharp plain edge. Finished with a non-reflective and corrosion resistant TiCN coating, the black blade is discreet in use and carry. Jimping on the thumb ramp offers enhances traction and control while the ambidextrous RoundHole opener makes for smooth, easy, one hand operation. The small size makes this a perfect choice for fine work or for carry in restrictive environments. The Wharncliffe blade has an acute point for piercing and fine work, while the straight cutting edge offers efficient slicing from heel to tip.
Handle: Linerless FRN handles are durable, lightweight and impervious to the elements with chamfered edges for comfort and high traction Bi-Directional texturing for a secure grip. Ergonomic in design, the handle offers a solid three finger grip with a generous hole for lanyard attachment if added grip area is required, with a slightly larger grip on the Manbug for users with bigger hands. A sturdy mid-back lock design offers rock solid lock up and reliable security in use, while the Boye Dent prevents accidental disengagement of the lock when gripping the handle with heavy pressure.
This knife has no clip. Carries well in the pocket or on a key ring.
VG10: Takefu VG10 is a Japanese high-carbon stainless steel that takes a fine edge and holds it well. Edge retention and toughness are on par with 440C, with better corrosion resistance. Popular with Japanese kitchen knife makers, it is often hardened to 60-61 HRC. A solid choice for small pocket knives thanks to good edge holding, stain resistance, and ease of sharpening. An acute, high polished edge delivers optimal slicing performance.
